Most questions about an official San Juan County criminal record belong with the office that created or maintains it. Sheriff reports, jail bookings, felony court files, misdemeanor cases, and statewide histories follow different routes. The contacts below identify the verified county and court offices in Aztec and Farmington, along with the hours published by those offices. San Juan County Criminal History is a private reference and cannot retrieve, certify, change, or file a government record.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately run reference cannot conduct an official check, obtain a record, correct or remove an entry, or accept an expungement petition. The proper government custodian must handle those services.

Need an Official Record?

Use the record type and court level to choose the right San Juan County office:

  • Sheriff incident or arrest reports and releasable media: submit through San Juan County JustFOIA. Sheriff headquarters is 211 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM 87410, 505-334-6107, open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • County public-record requests: the records custodian is at 100 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM 87410; fax 505-334-3168. A written request should give the requester's name, address, telephone, and a reasonably detailed record description.
  • Booking and custody information: San Juan County Adult Detention Center, 871 Andrea Drive, Farmington, NM 87401, 505-566-4500. The county says current and past detainee details are available through its online lookup.
  • Felony court files in Aztec: San Juan County District Court, 103 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, NM 87410, 505-334-6151, fax 505-334-1940, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Felony court files in Farmington: San Juan County District Court, 851 Andrea Drive, Farmington, NM 87401, 505-326-2256, fax 505-326-1179, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • State misdemeanors, DWI matters, and felony preliminary stages: Aztec Magistrate Court, 200 Gossett Drive, Aztec, NM 87410, 505-334-9479; or Farmington Magistrate Court, 950 West Apache Street, Farmington, NM 87401, 505-326-4338.
  • One's statewide fingerprint-supported arrest history: use the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Authorization for Release of Information process. The background-check line is 505-827-9181.

Municipal ordinance and petty misdemeanor files remain with the issuing municipal court. For a public case index, use New Mexico Case Lookup, then ask the clerk shown on the result for the official file. The elected San Juan County Clerk is not the criminal-court clerk. A sheriff report request also does not produce a certified court case.
