Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply whenever you browse San Juan County Criminal History, read its material, or submit a search. By continuing, you agree to these conditions. Please leave the site if you do not accept them.

NO FCRA USE. This private website is not connected with any local, state, or federal government entity. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for employment screening, credit decisions, tenant screening, insurance underwriting, or another purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material identifies criminal-record sources serving San Juan County and New Mexico. Neither the website nor its operators act as a consumer reporting agency or private investigation business.

1. What This Website Is

San Juan County Criminal History is a privately operated reference, not a government service. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve documents, run official checks, or submit filings for users.

Its material directs readers to the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Records Bureau, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. Certain pages may also link to search services run by outside companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Your access depends on lawful, responsible use. You may not:

  • Violate a local, New Mexico, or federal law through the site
  • Stalk, intimidate, harass, or threaten a person with information obtained here
  • Rely on site content for employment, housing, lending, or insurance determinations
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Neither site content nor information reached through a link may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Such behavior can violate the law. The New Mexico Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, NMSA 1978 Sections 29-11A-1 and following, limits the use of New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry information. Public registry access supports lawful safety awareness. It does not permit retaliation or confrontation.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

San Juan County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It prepares no official background check, credit report, or consumer report. Its advertising partners and the site do not offer a service for regulated eligibility or screening decisions. You agree that neither this site nor any tool linked from it will be used to:

  • Make a decision to hire, retain, or dismiss a worker
  • Evaluate a housing applicant or prospective tenant
  • Measure creditworthiness or determine an insurance rate
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or public program
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When a legally regulated check is required, it must come from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety through an authorized process or from a provider that meets applicable FCRA duties.

5. No Legal Advice

The material supplies general public information and is not legal advice. It cannot determine how a pending charge, warrant, conviction, or New Mexico expungement law affects an individual case. Seek a licensed New Mexico attorney for advice about a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

Content and services are offered "as is," without a promise that:

  • Any item will always be complete, correct, or up to date
  • Access will remain continuous or free from interruptions
  • The pages contain no mistakes, defects, or security weaknesses
  • A partner search tool will return accurate or complete results

Criminal charges can change or be dismissed. Courts may later seal or expunge records, and agency updates can lag. For those reasons, gaps and later changes can occur. Site content is not an official statement from the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, a New Mexico court, NMDPS, or another public body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Some links open San Juan County offices, New Mexico court portals, state resources, legal materials, or commercial services outside this site's control. Each destination is responsible for its own availability, content, fees, and privacy practices. Read the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

San Juan County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, logos, and graphics. You may not reproduce, alter, distribute, or adapt that material unless written permission is obtained first.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, the site bears no liability for loss or damage resulting from use of its content or any service reached by a link.

10. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold the site harmless against demands, claims, or proceedings that result from your use or violation of these terms, including associated costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

The laws of New Mexico govern these terms. A dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located within New Mexico.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revisions may be posted from time to time. An updated term becomes effective when the revised version is published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

The site may restrict or end access without prior notice, at any time and for any reason.

14. Severability

If a court finds one term invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue to apply. The affected language will be narrowed only to the degree necessary.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
